Annually, a group of six prominent artists are selected to create a series of six fragrances with six celebrated perfumers in order to raise awareness and funding for a deserving charity. The initiative, and end product, is known as Six Scents.
Most recently, with Six Scents: Series Two, the charity is Pro-Natura, an environmental sustainability program, and the creatives involved are exploring the relationship between artist and nature through story, film, photography, art, and of course, fragrance.
Each fragrance designer was invited to imagine a place, action, and person that would be the basis of their offering; from each response, a story evolved. The contributing visual artists and writers were asked to interpret these stories. The final result is a collective narrative creation that aims to offer a new perspective into the experience of scent.

"Exploring the idea of nature as muse, we created Series Two as a multimedia and multi-sensory collection to spread environmental awareness and preservation through experiences of nature as a symbol and source of all creativity," says Six Scents Story Director Aramique Krauthamer.
Creative contributions for Series Two include 'Flashback' by Marco Brambilla, a film which examines how a person might remember each fragrance experience, 'Subliminal' by Justin Edward John Smith, a film and photo series that explores how someone may feel emotionally while experiencing the story of each fragrance, and 'Contact' by Azuma Makoto, a series of botanical sculptures that portrays what might be seen in the natural environment.
Each fragrance is offered in a limited quantity of 2,000 bottles, individually numbered, containing a DVD with Brambilla's ‘Flashback’.
